A comfortable home isn't about expensive furniture. It's the small things you touch every day: the bed you get into at night, the towel you reach for after a shower, the corner where you sit with a cup of tea. Get those right and the whole house feels better to live in.
Here are some simple ways to do it.
Change the bed with the seasons
Egypt has two very different halves of the year, and one duvet rarely suits both.
- In summer, sleep with cotton sheets and a light quilt under the air conditioning. Our Summer Fiber Quilt is made for exactly that.

Swapping bedding twice a year also means you store, wash and air it properly, so it lasts longer.
Choose bedding you can actually wash
Comfort doesn't last if cleaning is a chore. Look for:
- Pillows and quilts that go in the washing machine, like our fibre pillows, which are washable at 30°C
- Pillows with a zip-off cover, like our memory foam pillows
- A mattress protector, so you wash a thin layer instead of worrying about the mattress
Make the bed look the way you want
A new duvet cover changes a room faster than new paint. Plain white looks calm and hotel-like. Champagne feels warm. Black looks modern, especially against light walls.
You don't have to match everything. A white cotton quilt cover with a ribbon trim with coloured pillow covers gives you a bit of contrast without looking busy.
Create a corner that isn't the bed
Plenty of people end up using the bed as a sofa, a desk and a TV chair. A comfortable seat somewhere else in the room, or the living room, gives you somewhere to relax that isn't where you sleep.
A bean bag works well for this. It's easy to move, fine for reading or films, and the side pockets keep the remote and your phone close. There's a kids' size too, which children love.
Don't forget the bathroom
Towels are one of those things people put up with for years. A thick, soft cotton towel makes the start and end of the day feel a little more special.

- A fitted sheet in the right size

You don't need to change everything at once. Pick the thing you use most and find least comfortable, whether that's your pillow, your towel or your duvet, and start there.
